Youth Orchestras
Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestras
Founded in 1942, Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestras (SYSO) is the largest youth orchestra training program in the United States. The organization serves over 1,500 diverse students each year with four full orchestras, three summer festival programs, and extensive partnerships with local public schools. By awarding nearly $200,000 in financial aid annually, SYSO ensures that every talented student can participate in its programs, regardless of financial resources.
Cascade Youth Symphony Orchestras
The Cascade Youth Symphony Orchestras (the CYSO) was founded in 1976 as a youth extension of the adult Cascade Symphony Orchestra, headquartered in Edmonds, Washington. The CYSO provides a wholesome and stimulating environment for talented and gifted young musicians. An emphasis is placed on creating an atmosphere that encourages, challenges and develops their fullest potential in the art of performance. Participants benefit from a year-long program designed to nurture their enjoyment of music as well as develop their musical skills and self-confidence.
Everett Youth Symphony Orchestras
Based in Mukilteo, Washington, the mission of the Everett Youth Symphony Orchestras (EYSO) is to provide quality performance opportunities that promote musical understanding and growth for youth and the community through a nurturing, challenging, and exciting orchestral program. Everett Youth Symphony Orchestras perform three concerts each season at the PUD Auditorium in Everett, WA.
Academy Chamber Orchestra
The Academy Chamber Orchestra (ACO) is the premier Youth Chamber Orchestra in the Pacific Northwest. Its musicians have won numerous awards and honors on their respective instruments, and graduates from ACO have gone on to attend many of the premiere music schools and conservatories in the US. The ACO provides an opportunity for its musicians to read and perform concerto repertoire with the orchestra, many of whom are selected to perform concertos with major orchestras in the Pacific Northwest. In addition, ACO premiers many new compositions, some by its own students, and performs World Music from many cultures that are not included in the European classical tradition.
Youth Chamber Music
Chamber Music Madness
Chamber Music Madness is dedicated to the musical and personal development of young people through chamber music. Based in Seattle, Chamber Music Madness serves as a regional center for young string players to explore the brilliant literature created for the string quartet and other chamber works. Their artistic faculty help young people to develop ensemble skills, improve their playing and musicality and grow in confidence. In the process, they become part of an ever-growing community of string players.

Marrowstone Music Festival
Bellingham, WA
Marrowstone Music Festival, founded in 1943, is the largest and most comprehensive summer orchestra training program in the Pacific Northwest. Every summer over 200 musicians, aged 14 to 25, come from over 30 states and several countries to study with our internationally acclaimed faculty at the beautiful campus of Western Washington University in Bellingham. During this intense two-week program students are immersed in orchestral and chamber music rehearsals, master classes, and professional performances for the Bellingham public.
Chamber Music Madness
Seattle University, Seattle, WA
Chamber Music Madness presents innovative and exciting programs for young musicians and adult amateurs. Our goal is to open the wonderful world of chamber music to young and old alike, and to kindle a life-long love of playing. Our professional coaches are enthusiastic, skilled musicians who know how to teach and inspire in a joyful and relaxed setting. Programs include sight-reading, intensive rehearsals, coaching, and performance opportunities.
